Diagnostic fertility workup
You and your partner have had the desire to have children for some time. In consultation with your GP you have decided to make an appointment at the Wetering Medical Centre for a diagnostic fertility workup.
Why a fertility test?
By means of fertility workups we try to identify the causes which may explain why no pregnancy has occurred. We also try to give an assessment of your chances of achieving a (spontaneous) pregnancy. If it takes more than 1 year to conceive, you can have research done to find out why pregnancy has not yet occurred.
Treatment failure to conceive
In most cases, this will enable us to treat subfertility. If no pregnancy has been achieved over a prolonged period of time and additional treatment such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF / ICSI) is required, we can refer you to a centre qualified to provide such a treatment.
If you already know that additional treatments will be necessary, referral to our centre will be of little use to you and you would be better advised to go to a specialized centre.
You will not feel anything from the examination itself.
